153 English councils with sourced metrics: 21 county councils, 63 unitaries, 36 metropolitan boroughs and 33 London boroughs (including the City of London). The Councils menu also lists Wales’s 22 principal areas with the same debt, population, crime and control metrics from MHCLG / ONS / Open Council Data (home map geometry stays England-only). Shire districts are not listed as primary rows because their borrowing sits on a different balance sheet from the county. Every council number carries a source name and as-of date. Mayors lists England’s metro and strategic mayors (London plus combined authorities) as a separate geography layer. UK Parliament pages live in this same app under Parliament in the header. Compare puts two to five councils (or current MPs) side by side. Weekly briefing summarises dataset freshness and watchlist changes for the last seven days. The UK debt clock shows the latest ONS national PSND stock (separate from council borrowing). Gilt yields are the Bank of England’s end-of-day 5-, 10- and 20-year par yields (stock ≠ yield). Public finances compares annual tax revenues and benefits spending with the stock of public-sector pension liabilities. Housing and NHS waits shows official waiting-list and housing-pressure stocks (not council borrowing, and not a fake local-trust join). Council tax Band D ranks England billing authorities and Wales’s 22 principal areas by official Band D and year-on-year % (separate MHCLG and Welsh Government collections). Election calendar lists upcoming and recent civic polls with sources — never invented polling days.
