UK gilt yields
Live in the sense that Watchtower re-reads the Bank of England’s daily gilt par-yield series while this page is open — not a minute-by-minute dealer screen. The Bank publishes these yields as end-of-day observations, usually by noon the next business day. Two-year and 30-year par yields are not in this IADB family; we show the 5-, 10- and 20-year tenors that are.

What this number is
A nominal par yield is the interest rate on a hypothetical conventional gilt priced at par, read from the Bank of England’s fitted government liability curve. It is the usual official summary of “the” 10-year gilt yield. It is not the yield on one specific bond, not a forecast of Bank Rate, and not financial advice.

- Explainer: Bank of England yield curves. The fitted curve files are not available over an API; these three daily par-yield series are.
- This page polls Watchtower’s server every five minutes while the tab is visible (paused when hidden). The server caches the Bank of England CSV for five minutes so we do not hammer the IADB.
- If the Bank of England feed fails, the last good snapshot is kept or the page says unavailable. Yields are never invented.
